Welcome to the Plumbing Podcast

Plumbing is probably  the most widely used technologies that gets taken for granted on a daily basis.  Nobody ever thinks about how often you come to rely on the accessibility to clean safe water and the removal of waste water.  After you listen to this podcast, you still won't, but if you are a plumbing contractor, you will hopefully learn a little bit more about becoming a better contractor.


This podcast is being produced to educate the industry on better practices, products and ways that you can increase productivity.  Over the course of the next year, we will have guests that include industry experts, owners and manufacturers.  Listen in (almost) weekly to stay up to date on the latest podcast.

Episode Three - Flint Water Crisis with Ben Ranger, Michigan Pipe Trades Director of Organizing

In this plumbing pod, Sean McGuire interviews Ben Ranger, Director of Organizing for the Michigan Pipe Trades.   Ben helped lead an effort to install water filters in Flint, Michigan donated by Plumbing Manufacturers International, with plumbers and service technicians from UA 370 and service trucks from Flint and the MCA of Detroit.  He discusses the situation in Flint, how many homes are effected and what steps need to be taken to make water safe again.

The UA's Charitable Fund Trust was established to provide assistance to victims of natural disasters or other tragedies.  The trust is helping the people of Flint by purchasing fixtures, filters and materials in order remove lead from the drinking water of these homes.

Episode Two - Bill Erickson, Team USA Mentor in the Community Plumbing Challenge in Nashik India

In this plumbing pod, Sean McGuire interviews Bill Erickson, a plumbing contractor with CJ Erickson in Chicago who mentored Team USA in the Community Skills Challenge that took place in Nashik, India.  Bill describes the international competition, the community and some of the design challenges for the limited infrastructure available.
